School ...art help??
Art is a subject which you do have to work really hard for, it's a lot to do, but it's really enjoyable too, and I always found it relaxing as it was so different from my other subjects andan outlet for creativity...
Just think- will you miss it a lot if you don't take it next year?
To be honest, in art, you don't need to be very talented and you can actually get very good grades by doing enough and furfilling all the assestment objectives. I'm not especially amazing at art, and got an A at gcse!
good luck with making you choices- I remember how much I worried about making them, but basically just stick to things you enjoy :)
Reply:Most people are advised to take a creative subject at GCSE. It takes the burden away from studying lots of academic subjects. If you enjoy art then you would probably like it next year too. However I must say that my friends who study art always have lots of coursework to do and it takes ages, but in saying that, I didn't take a creative subject and I regret that as it would be nice to have a break from all the note-taking. If you can get a mark that your teacher says you can then that is very good.
Think carefully and best of luck. =D
Reply:Choose subjects which you think will provide well for the future, and subjects you actually have a talent in.
If you choose art, what subject will you not be able to take?
take into consideration any current career aspirations and talk to your tutor about which courses would be best for you.
However, when i was in yr9, i choose graphic design because i enjoyed it and at the time i wanted a career in human resources...now i actually am a graphic designer so that worked for me! You dont necessairly have to be artistic as the majority of your work isnt based on a final piece, its based on all the development work leading up to it aswell
You shouldn't think about whether asubject is going to be hard or not....as hard work pays off in the long run....and when you get to uni/full time employment, thats when the real hard work starts.
aim high and dont just choose a subject because you are being pressured into choosing it!
Reply:i did art at GCSE and AS level.
At GCSE level you can pass and achieve a good grade through working hard and getting things done. However, being good doesn't get you an A. you have to do the work and build up a sketchpad and design and create a final piece.
I enjoyed it, but many took it as a doss lesson. It isn't.
Also, if you really enjoy your art, A level is much better, more freedom with your ideas, and many more different media to use in your work.
Your decision :)
Reply:well, i do art for GCSE and i luv it even tho im not brilliant at it but it is fun and you can just use the lesson to chill as you dont need to memorise facts you only hav to do a bit of research and spend more time on ur art than u probs do at the mo. hope this helps!
