Ok, I asked a similar question yesterday, and I got some wonderful answers, so I decided to ask some other questions that were stuck on my mind for a while.
I'll begin with art, because this is something I REALLY want to know:
When I was in 7th grade, I remember that on of my brother came back from school , he looked at my art, and he told me it was haraam. He said his teacher told him that if you draw any human, or eyes... Allah, in the day of Judgement will ask you to make the art alive. I didn't care much, but a month ago, my friend and I decided to draw some cartoon on the white board, and one of girl came out of no where and erased what we had drawn. She told us it was haraam, and just left. She kind of pissed me off because she, herself doesn't follow the right Islam *cough*cheater*cough* and yet, she is giving me advice about what is right and wrong??. ANYWAY, the thing is I love, I mean LOVE art. Art is amazing. I don't draw for people, I draw for myself and when I hear
Injustice, and Art?
Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim relate that a man came to Ibn Abbas (Allah be well pleased with him and his father) and said, "My livelihood comes solely from my hands, and I make these pictures. Can you give me a legal opinion about them" Ibn Abbas told him, "Come closer,' and the man did. "Closer," he said, and the man did, until he put his hand on the man's head and said: "Shall I tell you what I heard from the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammed (Allah bless him and give him peace) I heard the Messenger of Allah say, "Every maker of pictures will go to the fire, where a being will be set upon him to torment him in hell for each picture he made. So if you must, draw tress and things without animate life in them."
For the reference, this comes from book number 2 and book number 3 in Islam: Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Islam prohibits the depiction of animate beings in paintings and drawings. But yes, pictures of inanimate beings are allowed.

Reply:I am speaking from a Christian point of view and I know next to nothing about Islam. I do know we worship the same God but, if I understand correctly, we conceptualize him very differently. I was taught and do believe that God is our "Heavenly Father". Because God loves us as his children, of course, he forgives us. He loves us unconditionally. Can you imagine a human father condemning one of his children to everlasting torment for a wrong they committed? How much more unlikely is it that our Heavenly Father who IS love would not forgive us anything. Fairness does not even come into the equation, because God is also infinite mercy. If God can forgive us anything, who are we to hold a grudge toward anyone. He knows we are imperfect beings, he created us. Perfection is the ultimate goal but we will never reach that goal in this life. That will be the challenge of the next life.
As for the art, I do not understand what could possibly be wrong with drawing eyes or faces. They are nothing more than representations of reality. They have no power other than what we give them in our own minds. Artistic talent is a God given gift and should be used and appreciated.
This is what I believe. If you believe otherwise, I do not think of you as being wrong, just different. And different is ok.
Reply:Is it really haram to draw pictures of people or creatures? Dam I need to stop doodling in class then. Lol.
Reply:You have to understand what shirk is in theological terms. It means idol worshipping i;e taking others as comparable to God.
The illusory world is considered as false idols and a test for mankind and putting anybody or material things on par with God is naturally prohibited by anyone who believes in the One God. Because God in Islam is fully transcendent. So were talking about setting up partner with God, that is the real crime.
So , no art is not and can never be a travesty in Islam. Some people avoid depicting human figures as they think , in their opinion and it is just that an opinion, that such images can potentially be a distraction to the contemplation of Tauhid (oneness) . However there are no injunctions against depicting human figures etc etc in the Quran and i don't understand what on earth they're on about anymore.
Reply:a person can give advice on good deeds even if he doesnt do all of them and they can stop you from doing bad deeds even if they dont refrain from all of them. all they need to do is practice what they told you.
you should be grateful that allah has sent someone to you to stop you from comiting sin.
Reply:art doesnt necessarily mean it has to be somthing "living"
we muslims have a powerful history of art, most muslim artists excelled in various forms of calligraphy, and gyemetrical shapin, theres nothing wrong with loving art
