In visual art, much of art begins visually as a drawing or thumbnail in a sketchbook. But from a visual perspective, how do ideas for dance, theater, and music begin? Are the ideas for a dance/song/play drawn? Written? What does art look like in its rawest/most basic form? How does performance art first become an idea? In what means as well?
This is a little abstract but I was wondering if anyone in performance art could give me some examples of how their ideas are first captured. Thank you.
What does art look like as an idea?
great question! I think it has to be individual to the artist...especially when you're using terms from one discipline to describe another. It seems that at it's most basic form, there must be a theme; a statement. (Even if the point is to steadfastly NOT have a concrete statement...)
