Art???????????????

does anyone have any pointers (drawing' painting sketching ETC...)

Art???????????????
One; get a book on the basics of linear perspectives!

Two: you have three shades to work with in the rough before you actually do the final drawing, this is called the gesture of your artwork. The shades are white, medium, and dark.

Three: composition is important, learn to recognize the basic forms of composition, that would be the 'circle', the 'square' and the 'triangle'.

Four: Use the law of thirds in all your works. That is ...do not centre your primary subject matter instead divide the picture plane of your page into three even spaces horizontaly, and three even spaces veritcally. Then place your subject matter on the top third, or the bottom third or the left third or the right third of your page. (hope you got that)

Work with graphite as well as conte, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink, crayons and this will help you to explore the different mediums and what you can and cannot do with each of them.

Work in different sizes. Do not standardize the format of your work. Draw on small sheets, draw on medium sized sheets, draw on large sheets, draw on oblong sheets, tall skinny paper sizes.

For the most part you will probably be using pencils. They range in density from 6H through to 6B and and F or H in between the numerical system. The H pencils are hard and give a light draught, where the B pencils are softer the higher the number goes and give a heavy draught.

Experiment with your erasors. There are many different ones on the market.

When you get frustrated with your work you are allowed to throw a tantrum or two. But don't let anyone see you.

All the best to you in your endeavors.
Reply:~start with drawing basic objects around the house, if accessible use larger paper or sketch pad, use various pencils from 2h to 6b for better shading,

~for learning to paint use drawing skills to sketch lite outlines of scene, then apply colours , may be good to learn color wheel and blending before creating artworks, there are some paint by number sets at local craft stores if needed, try starting with acrylics,

~you could also practice sculpting with sand castles, or snowman and forts, this may also help to bring perspective to drawings and shadow effects,

~your skills may vary from fine arts to graphical design, so try playing with all mediums to find your niche in art, have fun,☺

Reply:If you want to be good at Art find your own way, don;t be some plagerising nerd who draws/paint/writes in the style of all the time. Bore
Reply:cant reccomend life drawing classes enough, they give you the opportunity to explore different methods of art, they have people of all different abilities and you can get feedback and share ideas with others. the main thing you need to learn to do is draw with your eyes and not with your mind, as soon as you start drawing what you think you should see, instead of what you actually see, it starts to go pear shaped - quite literally sometimes!
Reply:i hope u know how to draw any thing cos why ask depend how old u are I'm 14 just gone 13 and Ive been watching art programmes since i was born so i guess that how u get pointer but no one cant show u how to draw it comes naturally
Reply:dude if u don't know what art is then maybe u should go back to elementary school.
Reply:Practise. Practise. Practise and more practising
Reply:It's all going to look bad for a really long time, I've been painting on acrylic since I was 8, and watercolor since before I can remember. It's going to look like **** for years unless you're a prodigy and then, you wouldn't need pointers. I'd say the most important thing is to make sure it looks proportional. If it's not proportional, no matter how well you shade and blend and texturize it will still look bad. And if you're particularly bad at something, make sure you do it more often. When I was younger I couldn't draw hands so I would draw people with their hands behind their back but once I started drawing them more often they started to look really nice. I can draw hands now, better than I can draw any other part of the body. I can't help you with sculpture tips though, I'm horrible at that.

%26amp; p.s. it doesn't come naturally, it may seem like it does but it's usually because like, she said, she's been watching art programmes since before she can remember %26amp; she's been practicing that long too. It comes with a lot of practice and your creativity is what will make you a true artist and truly artistic and different from everyone else trying to steer away from stick people
Reply:Anything that will produce a reaction positive 0r negative will be considered as Art. In today's word.

So If you are going to try something do it well !!

Good Luck
