Art from Germany?

For my art appreciation class I have to bring in a piece of art from Germany. Where could I find the best work from German artists? Or does anyone know of any cool ones or some of the top German art? I don't want to bring in anything that is just ehhh. Any idea's??

Art from Germany?
How about Rebecca Horn, a leading German installation artist (b. 1944)

for bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Hor...

There are two works by her in the Guggenheim, shown and described at http://www.guggenheimcollection.org/site...

For description and second pic: click on "next Horn work" I think the one using typewriters is fun seeming to " personify a pool of glum secretaries who find themselves once again behind their typewriters on a Monday morning"
Reply:Some of my favourite art is from Germany; mosdtly the stuff Hitler was dead against. The art survives; he doesn't! A good place to start is a look at the Bleu Reider Group including Franz Marc. Other great German artists are Heckel, Kirchner, Otto Mueller, Nolde, Munter, Beckmann, Dix, and Grosz. You can see their work with a simple search at http://www.artcyclopedia.com/history/ind...

Enjoy!
Reply:If you want something you can have a good debate about, try bringing in some pictures showing an installation by Joseph Beuys. Some of his work is on show in the US (At Mass MoCA for example), but there are loads of them all over the world, often using materials like grease and felt.

And if you want to opt for the group of painters mentioned above, just note that it's called Der blaue Reiter, the above spelling won't help you very much.
