Art requirements for Higher education?

I contemplating taking 'As (half a Full A level course) art' for a second year college course.


However, will I have needed to take art g.c.s.e to do an As art course? Or will they accept me regardless (or possibiley with a portfolio)?


This possibility has only arisen due to the fact that As level drama requires no previous study of the subject, Im just wondering if it applies to art as well?

i would have thought that you would have had to have some art background, like a GCSE, to go onto somethign like an AS... i think it would depend on the college... Some research on that might be an idea... if it was somethign different like a BTEC or GNVQ or something, maybe not...


i did art a' level but did the gcse as well so i'm not so sure...
